My brother used to buy during the 90s but I never cared tbh as I was always more of a PC player. I've bought 5-figures of paper magic after MTGA release (playing right at the start, have Fblthp profile, etc), zero before. I have 5-figures worth of cards but I play mostly online anyway exactly because of this. It wasn't any LGS because all around me went bankrupt a while ago, I order my cards 200 kms from me.Ī new player has literally no organized place to play here while MTGA anyone can download on pc or phone. A while after I spent more than 5000 in a single year on paper magic (and I never stopped since) and it was MTGA that gave me any interest again. I didn't play Magic for years, then Arena popped up and I started playing it. That also happens with board games, it's extremely powerful.

Many, many players try first with digital and then move on to paper if they liked it.
